Never stop learning how to live!

📮 Perennial Meditations

Perennial Meditations are short guided contemplations inspired by the writings of Stoics, saints, and sages. These meditations are designed to help you (and me) reflect on what it means to live an intentional life. *** This series is exclusive to members.

Welcoming Change

“Nothing endures but change.”
— Heraclitus, Fragments

Heraclitus walked the streets of ancient Ephesus insisting on a truth we still resist: nothing is permanent. Rivers, bodies, cities, even our thoughts are always in motion.

“You cannot step twice into the same river,” he said, because the water—and the one who steps—have already changed.

Many of us live as if the opposite were true, holding onto fading seasons, outdated identities, and roles we’ve outgrown. We tell ourselves, “Once things return to how they were, I’ll be okay.”

Heraclitus might remind us that they aren’t going back. The river continues to flow, with or without our consent. But don’t take this as a reason to feel despair.
