📮 Letters to a Young Seeker
Letters to a Young Seeker is an ongoing series exploring the art of living. The series title is an homage to the poet Rainer Maria Rilke’s work Letters to a Young Poet. The term ‘Seeker’ in this context is inspired by the Delphic maxim: “Be a seeker of wisdom.” This series is exclusively available to members.

Dear Fellow Traveler,
In the opening lines of The Great Work of Your Life, Stephen Cope (one of my first podcast guests) writes: “What do you fear most in this life? What is your biggest fear? Right now.”
Fear is a natural part of being human. It helps to heighten our awareness and avoid unnecessary danger.
But what if fear is playing a much more significant role than it should? What if fear is actually holding us back from living our highest good?
The renowned psychologist Abraham Maslow stressed that if we plan on being anything less than we can be, we will probably be unhappy all the days of our lives. He believed that we fear our highest possibilities.
