Never stop learning how to live!

📮 Perennial Meditations

Perennial Meditations are short guided contemplations inspired by the writings of Stoics, saints, and sages. These meditations are designed to help you (and me) reflect on what it means to live an intentional life. *** This series is exclusive to members.

Seeing Clearly

“Men are disturbed not by things, but by the views which they take of them.”
— Epictetus, Enchiridion

Epictetus, who was born a slave and became a Stoic teacher, observed how people tend to blame their unhappiness on external factors—such as luck, family, politics, or health. His straightforward insight was that it’s not the events themselves that cause suffering, but the narrative we create around them.

For instance, rain is just rain; it’s the label “this ruins everything” that adds to the problem. We do this constantly.
